What treat to give the dog?

No matter how good and balanced your dog’s main ration is, you will still want to diversify it and delight your pet with something special. And here special delicacies come to the rescue, which, by the way, are also indispensable in the process of education and training. But how to understand a wide range and what kind of goodies for dogs to choose? Or is it better to cook them yourself? Let’s talk about this in our article.

Many dog owners who prefer a natural type of feeding prepare their own treats for their pets. However, such goodies spoil quite quickly, they are inconvenient to take with you for a walk, because they get their hands dirty, and it takes them a while to cook. Therefore, ready-made treats for dogs are much more popular. In any pet store you will find a huge assortment of such goodies, but be careful: not all of them will be equally useful for your pet.

First of all, do not buy economy-class delicacies, as they are made from low-grade, low-quality raw materials and often lead to serious digestive upsets or allergic reactions. The best choice is balanced natural goodies, non-GMO, with a high content of selected meat (up to 93%). Such goodies will not only seem very tasty to your pet, but will also be most useful to him. Enriched with vitamins, they will positively affect the health status and appearance of the dog. Since the composition of good delicacies is carefully balanced, they are an ideal complement to the main balanced diet and do not cause an imbalance (as can happen with home-made delicacies). However, do not forget that goodies should remain goodies, and in no case replace them with a full meal.

If we try to classify treats for dogs, we can conditionally distinguish three large groups: traditional treats that are used as encouragements and just for treats, preventive treats that support a dog’s health, and grain-free hypoallergenic treats for animals prone to allergic reactions.

The first group is the most extensive. It includes a variety of sausages, bones, steaks, sticks, delicious cured whole-fillet delicacies (for example, duck breasts or Mnyams straws) and even biscuits! Yes, you heard right, our four-legged friends can also be pampered with delicious biscuits (for example, Mnyams chicken biscuits). They will definitely appreciate it!

What treat to give the dog?
Also in this group are special training goodies. As a rule, they are packed in convenient containers, which are very nice to take with you for a walk (for example, Mniams mini-bones). It is known that food motivation is the strongest, and, believe me, mouth-watering goodies will become your ideal helpers in training a pet.

Preventive goodies have a special purpose. Most often, these are various tooth sticks to maintain the health of the oral cavity and fight against tartar (for example, Mnyams eucalyptus tooth sticks). You can also choose goodies for joint health (preventive meat sticks with seafood “Mnyams”), etc.

Grain-free treats (for example, Mnyams hypoallergenic stacks) are designed specifically for pets with sensitive digestion, prone to allergic reactions. They do not include cereal, dairy, soy ingredients and pork or beef products that are difficult to digest and provoke allergic reactions of the body.

But choosing the right treat is half the battle. It is very important not to overdo it with them, so that the treat does not turn into a full meal. Be careful and follow the manufacturer’s recommendations for feeding. Only in this way will you please the pet with the benefit for his health!
